This week the 3s travelled to Aston, looking to continue the unbeaten streak which has now stretched to four games.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl and a very green wicket, Ben Harvey and fishy opened up. The first wicket didn’t take long as Ben Harvey removed their opener with his first ball. However, there was controversy as the umpire signalled no ball claiming ben had forgot to tell him his action. This was deemed false and the batsmen had to vacate the wicket. The umpire later remembered he was deaf In one ear and therefore wouldn’t of been able to hear it. Shocker boi. The next over saw Dave Fisher snick off the other opener to keeper Tommy Evans, this will be a prominent theme throughout the first section of the report. I great start which only seemed to get better has Dave Fisher snicked off their number 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 which all fell into the hands of Tommy Evans. Fishy also claimed the wicket of number 8 and the only reason he wasn’t snicked off was because he decided to step away from the wicket and leave the ball which had landed on middle, the ball continued on its path and the batsmen was back in the shed. After this Reg came on for Ben Harvey who had mounted some runs onto his figures considering they had only scored 40 at the time. It didn’t take Reg long as in his second over he dismissed the last batsmen and Aston finished up on 47 all out. Dave Fisher ended up with figures of 8-16 off 10. Well bowled lerd.
A quick turn around was decided on and MODGE and Joe Maddocks were sent out to finish the job. There was no time wasted as MODGE took it to the opening bowler hitting a boundary in the first over. Joe Maddocks followed suit at the other end hitting 3 4s himself in the following overs. The game was eventually finished off with a bomb from Joe Maddocks as CBH knock it off in 7 overs none down.
A flawless victory which continued the winning streak to 5 games. Onto the next.
