The 4th's kick off their season with sunshine forecast and the return of Port Sunlight to Filkins Lane. The two teams have shared honours over the previous two seasons - 2 wins apiece - so we look forward to another competitive and good natured encounter.
It's all change again this season with the long overdue introduction of win-lose cricket: 40 overs per side, consigning the bore draw to the dustbin of local cricket. A couple of clubs have folded and a couple of new ones have joined so the league takes on a familiar if not identical look. It's not all rosy at the lower levels of club cricket so credit to the league committee for trying to enact positive change.
The 4th's put out a strong, well balanced side with a mix of youth and experience.
