George McCormick and Jack Williams were in the wickets as Chester consolidated at the top of the ECB Cheshire County League with a six wicket win at Toft. They took three apiece as the home side were dismissed for 118, Chester then sprinting to victory from 25 overs.
The all important toss, after early morning rain saw McCormick and Rick Moore strike early as Toft slipped to 52-5. The final total of 118 saw only opener Jimmy Lomas (48) and James Scott (33) reach double figures.
Moore set about the Chester reply with relish, carrying his bat for 62, supported by Harry Killoran (34*) as Chester got home for the loss of four wickets.
Chester now lead the table by 21 runs over Alderley Edge and its a home game at last as they take on Cheadle next week.
