Tons for Goodwin and Moore, 5 wickets for Leach

Bramhal 257, CBH 261-1. Chester won by 9 wickets

Scorecard

CBH completed three wins in eight days with a fine 9 wicket win over Bramhall.

The victory keeps Chester in touch with the leading pack as they approach the half way point of the season in fifth place.

Batting first, Bramhall were restricted to 257, thanks in the main to fine 5-55 from Darren Leach, his best performance for the Club since joining in the winter.

After a steady first half of the innings and a fine 62 from opener Dale McKay, Adam Wilde (57) and Iftikhar Naseer (73) took control and blasted a quick-fire partnership of 102 - Naseer's innings was spectacular including eight big sixes.

However, once the partnership was broken, the innings faded away as Bramhall lost their last seven wickets for 39 runs.

Leach's persistant bowling paid dividends and Ash Davis grabbed 3-64.

The Chester reply saw an exhibition of batting with Warren Goodwin and Rick Moore compiling an outstanding 225 before Goodwin played on.

The home side cantered home by nine wickets with 15 overs to spare.

Skipper Lee Dixon paid tribute to his side and to the sportsmanship of the visitors. 'I'm really pleased for (Darren) Leachy and the fact that his hard work's paid off," he said."And Warren and Rick's partnership was just a masterclass.

'It was a good day's cricket all round and the sportsmanship was highlighted by Bramhall's prolonged stay after the game and Simon Wilkinson and Dale McKay's input to our after-match presentations."

Next week Chester are at home to Cheadle.
