A topsy-turvy game of cricket saw Chester fight back to close the gap at the top of the Cheshire Premier League.
With Neston in the driving seat, Rick Moore grabbed 5-34 to claim what seemed an unlikely win for Chester and with Nantwich and Timperley both suffering defeats, keep an outside chance of retaining the league title.
An out of sorts Chester posted 205, Alex Money holding things together with 61 and Lee Dixon hitting 55. Their sixth wicket partnership of 68 rescued Will Owen's side, struggling at 85-5.
Matt Stewart, David Hurst and Ash Davis each took three wickets for the Shrimpers who seemed in control of the game when openers Will Evans (50) and Simon Stokes (52) took the hosts reply to 101 without loss.
Chester, unbeaten in their last eight with seven wins had to dig deep. And tit was their recent momentum that saw them through as Harry Killoran took 3-49 to celebrate his twenty first birthday and an outstanding performance from Rick Moore (5-34) pinched an unlikely 25 points as Neston folded to 189 all out.
