Phil Thomas explains all...

Nice week. Steady week. Good week.

On Tuesday we hosted Cheshire U13's dramatic 1 run victory over Lancashire, which was then enthusiastically celebrated by a few of the parents ,well into the late hours.

We opened a little earlier on Wednesday so that one of the contestants on " Come dine with me" could watch the show with family and friends. Emma didn't win, but came across well. Unusual, always different.
The footballers returned later after a 0-1 victory at Blacon. They won again on Friday, beating West Kirby 1-0 to go top of the League . A league that people pay good money to win. Our lads pay to play. Early days, but so far so good.

On Saturday the cricket lads beat Alderley Edge in a good game of cricket on a beautiful evening. The ground looked an absolute picture. Well done the grass cutter. The 4ths again competed but couldn't help the 3rds, losing to Didsbury. The 3rds did help themselves by winning comfortably at Macc. Pride of place though went to 'Dan Riley's Super White Army', who only went and completed the 'double' with victory at Alderley Edge. Massive congratulations, the team has dominated second team cricket. To wrap up the League with 2 games to go is a wonderful achievement and testimony to the strength of the Club at the moment. Marvellous!

There was a nice mix of folks from both sports ,that created a lovely atmosphere in the room all night. By recent standards ,celebrations were quite muted, perhaps mindful of the exciting week ahead.
The under 13's lost in a Cup Final to Alderley Edge on Sunday morning. Most of the team are eligible next season and include some fine cricketers. The future is bright.

Again there was a relaxed atmosphere on Sunday as people enjoyed the Carvery and the football on the telly.

Good luck to the lads in Cardiff. Already it is an outstanding achievement to get to a second finals day. But, we can be sure they are there to return with the Trophy once again.

Exciting times. There must be people that believe that this happens every year.

It all goes on at The Club.

See you soon.

Mr. T.
