Rick Moore leads Cheshire to T20 and KO Trophy finals

Congratulations to Rick Moore, Cheshire CCC's one day captain who's led his side to both the Unicorns KO Trophy final and T20 finals day.

Cheshire qualified for the KO Trophy final a couple of weeks ago after a semi final win at Bridgnorth against Shropshire, having already beaten Cumberland and Lincolnshire.

The T20 qualification meant a bit of a waiting game. Having eaten Cumberland (twice) and Staffordshire, Lincolnshire and Northumberland once in their group double headers, they had to wait until last weekend to learn their fate.

Northumberland defeated Cumberland in both games and although finishing on equal points with Cheshire, Rick's side got home on net run rate.

The games will be played at the picturesque Wormsley CC, on the estate of the late Sir Paul Getty.

T20 finals day will follow the traditional two semi-finals and a final and Cheshire will be up against Berkshire, Devon and Norfolk. They contest the 50 over KO Final with Devon.

Cheshire last reached the KO Trophy Final in 2007 when they lost to Suffolk at Lord's. They are though holders of the T20 Trophy having won it in 2015 (the only time previously played) on that famous day when Warren Goodwin and Ollie Law blasted hundreds to beat Oxfordshire with a mammoth total of 240-0.

Dates for the games are 26 August for the T20 (reserve day 27) and 29 August for the KO Final (reserve day 30).
