Don't ask!

Action packed week.

Weightwatchers weighed on Wednesday and Thursday as per usual. Again bigger on Thursday. Wednesday afternoon brought a roomful of doctors receptionists, special prize for best generic term, thank you. The room had been hired by the West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group for a training course. Normally I wouldn't comment, however, I make an exception in this case as the Irish/ Italian lady who took the seminar was truly magnificent. Part teacher, part actress, part comedienne, she was magnificent. She made the course fun and informative. Outstanding.

Saturday brought the last home match of the season for the Nomads. Not the best match of the season, the lads drew 2-2 and should be pretty safe now. It's been a trying season and yet there's still the chance of silverware. Now that would be a nice way to finish. Come on lads!
The other scores were discussed at length at the Nomads 111th Hot Pot Supper.

Great food, good beer and a night with your mates. Who wants for anything better? Controversy raged early in proceedings as the Adie Breakwell organised fund raiser for The Club was won by Adie's Club, Wolves, not surprisingly picked by, yes you guessed it, Adie Breakwell. One in 92 chance I suppose, and you gotta be in it to win it.

Next up was Dave Killoran. Dave was great, only slightly less blue than Dean Windass, but a lot more interesting and much, much more funny (diving header at the farpost ). For the rest of the evening the wonderful Hughie Curtis interviewed the Club Captains. A great format. In a break from tradition there was no big name (and expensive) speaker. As many people alluded to, once a Nomad, always a Nomad. A brilliant night seemed to be had by all, especially Stevie Mann. Well done everybody.

In another break from tradition , there was no carvery this weekend. Instead we had a Christening, with extras. First of all, it was nice to see lots of old friends who have been to many, many Christenings at The Club. Secondly , they had a Hog Roast. Absolutely perfect for this type of function. Thirdly was the arrival of Princess Elsa and her best mate , and a snowman. ( They had threatened to make him for what seemed like hours). Finally there was a low key appearance by a television personality. Actually, to be fair to him, he was just having a drink with family and friends, so ssshhhh.

The more eagle eyed of you may have noticed a major development last week. There will be many, many more this week. Our Club is getting a major refurb this week. I certainly hope it meets with your approval. I'm sure you'll be impressed. Come down and have a look. But, remember folks, it's you guys that create the environment and the atmosphere. It's your Club to enjoy.

So, see you there.

It all goes on at The Club.
Mr.T.
