The Pool team again courageously picked up a couple of points in 2-5 defeat. Interesting to note that our 81 year old won ( by far our best player) and the opposition's 84 year old won. At this rate our team should peak in about 30 years.

In a top of the table clash the first team went down to a 91st minute winner. In all truth, it wasn't the best of games. No consolation though, the lads were ' gutted'. The 2nds drew 0-0 at Bootle. Whilst the 3rds somewhat mysteriously had there cup fixture cancelled for the third time.

The 4ths lifted Kevin Jewsbury's trophy with a 4-1 win over the Vets, as the 5ths were defeating the 6ths. All very close and even the usual boisterous shenanigans.

On Saturday night we hosted a surprise 60th birthday party. The lovely Natasha sang beautifully. Peter was duly gobsmacked. The guests enjoyed the food, the beer and the J2O's. And, a good time was had by all.

Sunday was splendid. Three year old Spencer Cookson loved his party. Whilst at the other end of the room an Octogenarian enjoyed her party. In between a combination of regulars and not so regulars feasted on the Carvery

Great finish to the week.

Just be careful near the canal. Hippos are dangerous animals.
