"To be honest, we were long due an upgrade", said Jeremy. 'The place has looked pretty similar for the last thirteen years or so so a refresh is not before time.

"However, it's a pretty costly exercise and whilst we were of course willing to invest in ensuring our facility still remains one of the best in the North West, we really needed support.

"The financial contributions and hands-on expertise from Phil Dougherty of Dougherty & Allen together with the fantastic support of James and Liz Wright of Vivio and Jane Maclean from Abakhan has enabled us to quickly and efficiently take our club room to a new level. We offer even greater comfort in convivial surroundings that reflect the changing requirements and uses of the Club whilst of course still recognising our sports club roots."

"The whole thing has happened quickly too," he continued. "Yvonne Fleet and Julie Swinnerton generously kicked the fund raising off with a ladies lunch back in December and we're now almost complete".

Whilst there is a little fine tuning remaining, the new look is pretty much in place.

Seats have been covered and replaced, the original red carpet has been removed to go back to bare wood and the lighting has changed dramatically. A new carpeted area can now also be used independently, there are new curtains, a fresh colour scheme for walls and ceiling and a third TV by the pool table.

And this is just the start of it as CBH strive to continually ensure your comfort as we look forward to exciting times inside and out.
