Last Saturday saw Cheshire Women’s Cricket League and the County Club party the night away at their Annual Awards dinner, held at Chester Boughton Hall.

More than 100 guests sat down for a fabulous three course dinner prepared by Dougherty & Allen, followed by the slick presentation of the awards, the raffle and traditional heads and tails challenge. All proceeds from the raffle and the heads and tails go to charity and this year the League's chosen charity is Dementia UK.

With the formalities out of the way, the girls were on the dance floor to boogie until midnight. It was great to see the floor packed, particularly when the DJ put on the Killers, Mr Brightside, a real party anthem at League Dinners, helped ever so slightly by another League favourite Black Zambucca!

“It was a fantastic night, one of the best we have ever had”, said League Chairman Sarah McCann, and David Humpage, Chairman of the CCCC said “it was an excellent meal put on by Chester, and clearly the spirit amongst the girls is there for all to see.”

CBH Ladies had much to celebrate as Division 1 Champions and T20 Winners, with Lorna Starkey picking up the Division 1 Batting Award, Kate Coppack taking the Bowling Award and Lauren O’Reilly collecting the prestigious Cheshire County Award as Players’ Payer of the Year. A fantastic night and a great way to end a brilliant season for the Ladies, well done all and well captained Lorna Starkey.

On behalf of Women’s Cricket in Cheshire, a big thank you to the Club, to Phil & Paul, Phil, Sam & Steve and to all those that helped get the room ready in record time.

Thank you

Di Totty

President of Cheshire Women’s Cricket League
