Third CBH import already makes his mark!

Jack Williams hit the ground running last week in Tasmania with 75 and three wickets.

Down in Australia for the second season running, Jack is the third CBH import following the successes of Ollie Law and Lee Dixon in the last few years.

He took up the art of leg-spin bowling after watching Australian great Shane Warne and English import Jack Williams is hoping to bamboozle some Northern batsmen this summer with his art. The 23-year-old all-rounder from Chester near Liverpool spent a year playing in Victoria last season and decided to try Riverside at the recommendation of clubmates and former imports Lee Dixon, Oli Law and James Scott.

“I’m quite good friends with all the Poms they’ve had here over the past four or five years and have heard a lot of good things,” he said. “I’m more of a leg-spinner which I started at aged five or six but I’ve worked hard at it and my batting as a middle, lower-order player.

“I am very happy with the way it has gone so far and I just want to enjoy my cricket because I find that’s when I play my best. The group here seem really nice and I think they will bring out the best in me – I’ve always gone for team goals and I just want to contribute to any success the club has hopefully in making some finals and winning some competitions.”
