CBH 245-8, Toft 140. Chester won by 105 runs

This was a hard earned victory as Chester moved into second place in the ECB Cheshire County League.

Winning the toss and batting, Chester eventually posted 245-8, recovering from 148-5. Warren Goodwin made 31, Lee Dixon 34 and Alex Money 29 as the top order got themselves in and then got out. Fortunately the tail wagged however as Ross Dixon managed 27 and Jack Williams fought fire with fire on a tricky pitch to blast an unbeaten 59. Tom Forster finished with a fine 4-65.

Lancashire's Rob Jones was key to the Toft response but the batting had no answer to the medium pace of Alex Kegg as he took five wickets for the second week running, including the vital wicket of Jones.

But father and son, Toby (30) and James Drummond (74) then added 88 for the eighth wicket, frustrating the Chester bowlers when at 29-5 the visitors had nowhere to go. Eventually Williams had James Drummond caught behind and the final two wickets then went quickly to give Chester 25 points as Kegg finished with 5-25, Will Owen 2-32 and Williams 2-34.
