Chairman of Directors gives a stark warning at 2014 CBHCC AGM.

"Success on the field is one thing, but like many sports clubs, the financial challenge of providing top facilities and sport in the community remains a challenge."

That was the stark message delivered by Chairman of Director's Jeremy Jordan at the 2014 CBHCC AGM on Thursday night.

Whilst Chairman Jim Gillson and President John Legry reflected on probably the greatest season in CBH's history on the field, attendees were left in no doubt of the financial challenge in the months ahead.

Jordan reported on a financial loss of £32k, mainly due to depreciation and expenditure on the ground which included the installation of two new artificial pitches and the purchase of new machinery.

However, with the success of the past season and a number of high profile events held during the year, there was optimism of an improving picture.

Nevertheless, the cost of providing cricket in first class surroundings, with top level coaching and a brand new state-of-the-art net facility for 2015 means an inevitable increase in club membership fees:

Playing membership fees 2015

Senior players £120
Lady playing members £65
Over 40 playing members £50
University playing members £50
Juniors (school years 3-6) £70
Juniors (school years 7-9) £80.

There will be no increase for vice presidents, social members and school years 1-2:

Vice presidents £40
Social members £20
Juniors (years 1-2) £5

Match levies also remain unaltered at £5 per game for seniors (£3 per 20 over game).

All junior matches will incur a £2 levy per player.
