Cool hand Dan's squad closing in

Dan Riley takes his 2nd XI to Alderley Edge on Saturday knowing that a 25 point win would secure the League Championship,

The side have enjoyed a tremendous season piloted by Riley and a mixture of youth and experience has paid dividends.

Juggling the demands of the Club can make the 2nd XI a real tough cookie to manage but Riley has excelled.

"We're treating the game with Alderley Edge as a cup tie," he said.

"A win guarantees us the title which has eluded us since 2005.

"Only Tom Evans, Jonty Hedgecoe and Matt Griffiths remain from that side but this team is far better in all departments.

"We've won the cup - which was a fantastic day; a tough one to top but the league is hundreds of overs and hours across the season.

"It would be great to get a total and bowl them out. Especially if somebody gets a hundred which hasn't happened yet. Can' wait!"
