CBH Saturday Cricket .... To the Power of 5

CBH are to take the unprecedented step of introducing a fifth side to local Saturday cricket from the start of the 2016 season.

Club Captain Chris Fleet anounced the move following a link with Doddleston CC, based just outside Chester.

"Due to our Club being so popular, we are to start a 5th XI to play in the TACs League next year," he said.

"We are ever mindful of offering cricket to all our members and have managed to secure an arrangement with Doddleston CC who have offered to accomadate our home fixtures next season. Doddleston have a lovely new ground and in its first season, cricket will be played on a new artificial pitch. Our own 'super groundsman' Alex Kegg is to oversee new grass wickets for the following season and a new pavilion is to be built, adding to the attraction.

In the first instance Phil Evans and Chris Fleet will oversee the running of the new team which it is hoped will be made up of old and young.

Chris concluded "It says something that the Club feels it can raise enough players to run five senior Saturday sides and one on Sunday. Great times ahead!"
