We are excited to invite you to join us at the newly refurbished Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club on Thursday 14th of May for an amazing evening featuring the ‘Wine Guru’ Ian Hollick from Coonawarra, Australia.

A pioneer of artisan wine,s Hollick is a small family-owned winery in Coonawarra, in the Limestone Coast Wine Zone of South Australia.

Since 1975 the Hollicks progressively planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc.

In 1983 Ian and Wendy restored the original slab cottage located on Neilson’s Block which remains at the entrance to Hollick Wines today. This heritage listed cottage dates back to the 1860’s and was the reputed birthplace of famous lyric poet John Shaw Neilson.

Hollick Wines launched onto the national and international wine scene by winning the 1985 Jimmy Watson Trophy at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show.

Demand for the Hollick product was such that expansion was necessary, and in 1987 Ian and Wendy Hollick purchased the nearby "Wilgha" vineyard, to supplement their existing production. In 1998 the Hollicks developed their vineyard in the neighbouring region of Wrattonbully, adding further diversification and regional variation to the portfolio. Further plantings of Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Petit Verdot, and even more recently Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Barbera and Savagnin have also taken place.

Ian's expertise in viticulture has seen him as an industry leader, and the Hollick team place special emphasis on producing only premium fruit. The small, modern winery is designed around winemaking methods which produce wines of distinction, showing regionality and specific vineyard and varietal characters.

Hollick Wines have adopted the slogan 'Pride of Place' to reinforce the emphasis on the individual vineyard characteristics. Not surprisingly, the production from Hollick is eagerly sought each year.

Priced at £75.00 per person for a delightful four course menu with wines and talks by Ian Hollick, it's an evening not to be missed!

To reserve a table, please call our office on 01244675715 or Phil 0771066875.

I really hope to see you on Thursday 14th of May 2015. The evening will commence at 7.30pm.
